Dr. R. Meganathan is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics, School of Engineering and Technology, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Trichy, India. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Thiruvalluvar University, with research focused on heuristic approaches for Open Shop Scheduling Problems (OSSP) with release dates, particularly the minimization of makespan and resource idleness.
With 20 years of teaching and academic experience, Dr. Meganathan has held various academic and administrative positions, including Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Mathematics, and Professor. His primary research interests include Operations Research, Open and Flow Shop Scheduling Problems, and Non-linear Control Theory.
Dr. Meganathan has published research articles in national and international journals and conference proceedings, including publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. His research contributions encompass heuristic approaches to scheduling problems, flow shop scheduling, algorithm analysis, and fractional differential equations. He is also associated with research supervision, having guided 40 M.Phil. scholars and currently guiding a Ph.D. scholar.
In addition to his research and teaching activities, he has delivered invited lectures at academic institutions and actively contributed to the organization of seminars, conferences, workshops, faculty development programmes, and academic outreach initiatives. He also serves in academic and institutional responsibilities at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, including as an NSS Programme Coordinator and faculty coordinator for the Tamil Illakiya Mandram.
Dr. Meganathan has received the Best Teacher Award (2022–2023) and has qualified the Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (TNSET) in Mathematics. He is a lifetime member of the Academia for Advanced Research in Mathematics Society (AARM) and has served as a question paper setter, external resource person, and examination-related academic expert for various universities and autonomous institutions.
