Biography

Prof. (Dr.) G. Kathiravan is Professor and Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry Statistics and Computer Applications at Madras Veterinary College, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS), Chennai, India. His areas of expertise include Animal Husbandry Economics, Agricultural Economics, Biostatistics, Livestock Marketing, Agricultural Policy, Veterinary Education, and Computer Applications in Animal Sciences.

He has extensive experience in teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, academic administration, and technology-enabled education. His research focuses on livestock economics, consumer behaviour, livestock services, veterinary education, and evidence-based policy analysis. He has authored and co-authored 121 publications, including 66 refereed journal articles, books, research proceedings, and academic manuals.

Prof. Kathiravan has contributed to several national and international academic and technology-development initiatives and has received the TANUVAS Best Teacher Award, along with recognitions for his contributions to e-learning and veterinary education.
